Jay Faber, MD, is a double board certified psychiatrist in adult as well as child/adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Faber attended the University Of Minnesota Medical School and graduated in 1985. Upon completion, Dr. Faber moved to Southern California where he completed a four-year residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Adult Psychiatry. After receiving his degree, Dr. Faber stayed an extra two years and finished a two-year fellowship in Child\Adolescent Psychiatry. Wanting further education, Dr. Faber moved across town to archrival USC where he was accepted as a candidate to be a forensics fellow at the USC Institute of Psychiatry and Law.
Following his education, Dr. Faber has worked in both private practice as well as performing administrative duties for several different companies. Geographically, Dr. Faber has worked throughout the country including the states of California, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas. Just prior to coming to Value Options, Dr. Faber was the National Medical Director, Commercial and Medicare Divisions, for LifeSynch/Humana.
Along with his professional endeavors, Dr. Faber has created self-motivational material for adolescents and young adults. Included in his productions, Dr. Faber has developed a three-part audio visual series, Fortified Friendships, which teaches individuals “how to win friends and influence people” in a format that is culturally relevant to the viewer. In addition to this work, Dr. Faber recently produced a workbook, “Gotta Havda Power” (yes, the spelling is correct), which instructs urban teens and guides parents on how to build better self-esteem.
