Needs Assessment Survey:
The University of North Texas is conducting a study on Behavioral Health Services in Collin County. To be part of this survey, you must be 18 years of age or older and be receiving Mental Health or Substance Abuse services. These services must be given in Collin County, even if you don’t live in the county. No names are needed for the survey. To compare the input of those living in rural areas to urban areas of the county, we are asking you to provide your zip code. The survey is offered in both English and Spanish.

NorthSTAR is a publicly funded behavioral health program that serves seven counties around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. The counties within the service delivery area include Dallas, Collin, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman, Navarro, and Rockwall. The program serves the medically indigent and most Medicaid recipients who reside within this region. Launched in 1999, NorthSTAR is the first program of its kind, in Texas, to combine service programs and financial assets into an integrated single system of care.

The NorthSTAR program provides an integrated system of care with mental health care and chemical dependency services. ValueOptions NorthSTAR is the BHO (Behavioral Health Organization) who is responsible for the maintenance of the provider network and care management for the enrollees. At ValueOptions, we work together as a team with the goal of creating a quality model of care for the state of Texas.
