A Note from CEO Eddy Broadway

ValueOptions® New Mexico is deeply appreciative of the hard work and commitment demonstrated by our state's behavioral health care providers, and it has been our pleasure to assist you in our capacity as Statewide Entity since 2005.

In addition to fulfilling the role of New Mexico's Statewide Entity, we have worked to be a helpful source of information, encouragement, empowerment, and innovation for the behavioral health community in our state.

We wish the behavioral health community in New Mexico -- in particular, the state's consumers and providers -- all the best as this process moves forward. For the next 90 days providers will be able to continue to submit claims online via our ProviderConnect interface. ValueOptions AIS consumer enrollment system will remain available for providers to complete entry of registrations through July 31, 2009.  At that time, access to AIS will be terminated.

Sincerely,

Eddy Broadway

Update on Transition to New Statewide Entity

The ValueOptions® New Mexico (VONM) contract as New Mexico's Statewide Entity for behavioral health ends June 30, 2009. Consequently, all provider agreements with VONM terminate on June 30, 2009. Providers will receive formal termination notice under separate cover, if they haven't received it already.

VONM will continue to meet our obligations as the Statewide Entity through June 30, 2009. While we will no longer be the Statewide Entity, nor will we be responsible to manage behavioral health services post-June 30, ValueOptions® New Mexico will continue to be available after that date to assist providers with claims questions, billing or payment issues relating to services rendered as part of a VONM provider contract.

Our customer service line 888-251-7511 will remain active through (at least) the end of the year, and contact information for our claims, provider relations, and grievances and appeals departments will remain unchanged for the foreseeable future. Over the coming weeks, you will receive additional Provider Alerts outlining specific information regarding such areas as claims submission, service authorization and Community Reinvestment.

For claims and issues related to services prior to July 1, 2009, please call ValueOptions® New Mexico at 888-251-7511. For services provided on or after July 1, 2009, providers and consumers should contact the State's new behavioral health contractor, United HealthCare's Behavioral Health Company, Optum.
