ValueOptions® Again Receives NCQA Accreditation of Great Lakes Service Center
Norfolk, Virginia – JANUARY 20, 2010
NCQA, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality, has renewed its Full Accreditation of the ValueOptions® Great Lakes Service Center.
The renewal was granted under the Managed Behavioral Health Organization Standards set by NCQA. NCQA is governed by a Board of Directors that includes employers, consumer and labor representatives, health plans, quality experts, policy makers and representatives from organized medicine.
The Great Lakes Service Center has been NCQA Accredited since 2000, said Christine Leush, Service Center Vice President. “We had a celebration when we got word that we passed and received three-year Full Accreditation,” Leush said. “It’s a big deal, everyone was thrilled, and we are proud to maintain this important accreditation.”
NCQA requires strong adherence to quality standards, Leush explained, and the Accreditation affirms that the 139 employees of the Great Lakes Service Center provide high quality programs and services.
“We really do live the standards and shape our guidelines and protocols around them” Leush said.
The ValueOptions® Great Lakes Service Center is located in Wixom, MI and services a regional and national book of business. Its customers include health plan and employer contracts, with both union and non-union membership.
