ValueOptions® and Colorado Health Networks Win Administrative Contract

Social Securtity Administration's Mental Health Treatment Study Contract Awarded to Westat With ValueOptions and Colorado Health Networks Serving As Administrative Partner
Norfolk, VA — February 17, 2006

The Social Security Administration (SSA) recently awarded its Mental Health Treatment Study (MHTS) contract to Westat, with ValueOptions and Colorado Health Networks (CHN) serving as the project's ASO (Administrative Services Only).

ValueOptions and Colorado Health Networks will provide 24-hour participant and provider customer service for questions regarding reimbursement for mental health and selected physical health services, out-of-pocket expenses, vocational and financial planning services, laboratory services, and medications. 

ValueOptions and Colorado Health Networks will also coordinate benefits for these services, engage in dispute resolution as required, and process claims out of MHTS grant funds for all services not covered by another insurer. In addition, ValueOptions' Doctors Steve Holsenbeck and Edward Knight will provide clinical and programmatic consultation for the program, particularly as it relates to implementing the principles of recovery and resiliency, maximizing consumer leadership and involvement, and identifying and implementing alternate services/levels of care to support consumers in their homes and communities.
