Through a partnership with one of the world’s leading providers of employee support, ValueOptions is expanding its ability to provide services globally.
“As employers of all sizes expand their operations globally and increasingly recognize the risks of being away from home, we have received more requests from clients for a comprehensive global EAP strategy,” says Rich Paul, vice president of ValueOptions’ Health & Performance Solutions department, to explain this strategic move. “With our extended reach, we can successfully promote the health and effectiveness of a global workforce.”
Through a single contract, we can cover a client’s global counseling and family support needs. Not only does this simplify administration with one global account executive and integrated reporting, but comprehensive information about the workforce can drive strategic interventions where needed.
Serving all employees
Through our expatriate consultation services, we help companies and families with the challenging milestones of an overseas assignment—before, during and after. We can respond immediately and appropriately to an employee or family member experiencing difficulties. We also provide ongoing support, outreach and counseling services.
Our services are also tailored to meet the needs of host nationals in foreign countries, where we are positioned to provide culturally sensitive services in local languages during local business hours, as well as in emergencies.
Service options – from ad hoc to customized program
A client can contact us to handle an ad hoc request for counseling, critical incident response, training, etc., or a client can contract for services that employees around the world can access anytime. In this case, an international program would be tailored to meet a client’s unique and specific needs.
The service level options are as follows:
- EAP “on call”: This service is available to all clients on an as-needed or ad hoc basis, and is set up on a “pay as you use” basis. Typical services include support for stress, bereavement, substance abuse, relationship issues, fitness for work, absence, erratic behavior and critical incident/traumatic event response.
- Telephonic EAP: Employees and family members gain direct, unlimited and confidential telephone access, 24 hours a day, to international teams of highly qualified professional counselors and psychologists.
- Telephonic and face-to-face EAP: Telephonic service is available as described above. Where appropriate, either following self- or managed referral, an individual can access face-to-face counseling through our international affiliate network of professional counselors and psychologists.
- EAP and work/life services: This robust service option includes the EAP telephonic service and face-to-face counseling where available plus a work/life program to help clients better manage the practical challenges of daily living. The main areas of focus are family care, money management, legal, education, health, consumer issues and housing support. This wide-ranging practical information, research and consultative service will encourage individuals to be proactive and to access support early, to reduce any negative impact on job performance and decrease the chance of a failed assignment.
In addition, we can also provide cross-cultural training, pre- and post-deployment services, destination orientation, on-site training and critical incident response.
Talk to your account executive about the unique needs of your international workforce, and we can customize a program for your global organization. |
