Our Commitment to Suicide Prevention

Tens of thousands of Americans each year suffer such despair that they take their own lives; many more attempt to do so. The impact of each of these deaths fans out, devastating family members, friends and co-workers. The good news is that suicide prevention programs can help reduce suicide rates and suffering. EMPLOYER is committed to working within our own community to reach out and support those in need of assistance.

EMPLOYER already has an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in place. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the EAP is there to assist you and your family members with many issues or concerns. A team of professionals is prepared to help. They can be reached toll-free at (XXX) XXX-XXXX.

In addition to promoting our EAP, throughout the year EMPLOYER will be providing a wide range of information and resources to our employees to assist in identifying those at risk and directing them to the EAP for assistance. We are firmly committed to reaching out to help individuals reduce their risk factors for suicide and ensure that those who need support are guided to the right place. This includes educating our community on risk and protective factors, as well as identifying those at risk and offering guidance on how to help someone who may be at risk.

Please join me in this commitment. It is important for our entire community to be aware that suicide can be prevented and that help is available. Carefully consider the information that we share with you throughout the year and support those around you who may be at risk. Seeking help takes courage and strength. Together we can make a difference in preventing suicide within our community.
