To help you implement your plan, we have assembled a variety of tools to help tailor your tactics to meet your population’s needs. As part of our standard outreach to educate employees and family members about the EAP, we plan to use our existing communication vehicles. All of the pieces described below are available to you at no charge.

ValueOptions Driven

For the general population, ValueOptions will focus communication efforts on the key message: “A balanced diet, regular physical activity and stress relief can help you stay healthy for life.” This will enable us to help increase awareness of the health risks associated with overweight and obesity and provide information on moderate lifestyle changes with significant impact. You can expect to see information that promotes healthy weight behaviors in:

  • ValueOptions Solutions e-newsletter
  • WellNews newsletter
  • Achieve Solutions

The Achieve Solutions’ library of information is available to your employees and family members throughout the year.

Customer driven

The materials identified here are those you may consider making available to your employees either as a seminar, or as part of your communication strategy.

On-site trainings

ValueOptions offers a variety of on-site training programs, with a typical duration of 60 to 90 minutes. The following are some of the more pertinent trainings you might sponsor. Please contact your ValueOptions account executive for more information, to arrange an on-site training or to see the complete training catalog.

For supervisors:

  • EAP Training: Increases the supervisor’s knowledge of the EAP, including the services it provides, how the program works and how it can be used as a management resource when dealing with a troubled employee.
  • Managing Anxiety in the Workplace: Examines the reality of anxiety in today’s workplace and its effects on productivity. Managers will learn how to develop a proactive strategy and acquire the critical leadership skills that are necessary to help employees deal with stress in a changing environment.

For employees:

  • Balancing Work and Family: Participants will learn how to increase awareness of how well they manage the demands of their employer and family and how to achieve a healthy balance between their work and personal lives.
  • Building Resilience: Explains the components of resilience, how it affects our daily lives and why being resilient is so important in today’s world. Participants will learn to recognize, assess and promote resilience in themselves and others.
  • Coping With Anxiety in an Age of Uncertainty: Offers insight on how to understand, identify and better cope with symptoms of anxiety and fear. Participants learn useful coping strategies for themselves, their children and loved ones who may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety.
  • Depression: More Than the Blues: Increases awareness of depression, teaches participants how to recognize the signs and symptoms and identifies resources available to help depressed individuals and their loved ones.
  • EAP Orientation: Introduces employees to the EAP so they can feel comfortable accessing services. Employees learn what the EAP is, reasons to use EAP services and how the program works.
  • Healthy Eating and Stress Management: Eating habits and our choices of food are often the first signals of emotional changes. In this training, participants explore their relationship between stress and food and learn how our food choices impact how we feel.
  • Stress, Depression and the Holidays: Helps participants learn how to set realistic expectations for the holidays, establish priorities and limits for holiday obligations, and focus on what’s really important.
  • Stress Management and Healthy Well-being: Stress can affect all areas of our lives. If not managed, it can have negative effects on our emotional and physical health. Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to recognize sources of stress in their lives, recognize the signs and symptoms of unmanaged stress and utilize effective coping strategies to better manage stress.
